Interdisciplinary Research 

UC San Diego nurtures and supports a collaborative and interdisciplinary research culture that advances the frontiers of knowledge, shapes new fields, and disseminates discoveries that transform lives. Strategies and initiatives in support of this goal include identifying emerging trends and strategic thrusts that increase our impact and enrich society, and evolving organizational structures and processes to identify trends for investment, and foster innovation, risk-taking, and collaboration.

    Together with our campus partners, the Office of Innovation and Commercialization aligns resources to encourage and support an innovative community comprised of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community advocates. Our mission is to accelerate the commercialization of UC San Diego innovations and contribute to a sustainable society by empowering a diverse entrepreneurial culture on campus and strengthening a dynamic innovation ecosystem.

  • The Office of Postdoctoral Scholar Affairs

    Now part of the Division of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs, the purpose of Office of Postdoctoral Scholar Affairs is to provide guidance and expertise, foster professional advancement and enrich the community for postdoctoral scholars.

  • Research Experience & Applied Learning Portal

    The REAL Portal offers research, internship, international, service learning, entrepreneurial, leadership, and other co-curricular opportunities that help students build real-world skills and apply knowledge gained in the classroom.
