What we do
The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor provides significant administrative support and resources to advance the academic enterprise of the general campus and the broader university. Our major administrative support units are described below. We have also created collections of resources of particular importance to students, staff, and faculty. The office also handles more general items like EVC signature requests and communications to the university community, including the Academic Affairs newsletter.
Business Support Services
As part of Academic Affairs Resource Administration, the EVC Business Office (EVCBO) provides business support services to the EVC Office and reporting units. They develop, interpret, and implement policies and procedures related to payroll and timekeeping, facilities, IT and office equipment, purchasing, travel and entertainment, and more. Visit their website (evcbo.ucsd.edu) to learn more about how EVCBO can support your business operation needs and who to contact for assistance.
EVC Human Resources
EVC Human Resources provides staff human resource services to Academic Affairs units, including the Office for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and Student Affairs. Visit their website (evcstaffhr.ucsd.edu) for guidance, assistance, or resources related to HR policies, procedures, or programs.
Academic Personnel Services
Academic Personnel Services (APS) is the central hub for processing campus-wide academic personnel actions and provides resources to our academic community. APS supports academic advancement, faculty professional development, recruitment, retention, salary and benefit programs, and more. Visit their website (aps.ucsd.edu) for more information about the services and tools APS provides.
